UAE is preparing its youths to become potential leaders in the workplace. Assuming they will have the right attitude and a desire to learn, career Exploration early on presents opportunities for success after graduation.

More Emirati schools have begun to equip young people with the skills, information and opportunities to succeed in the world of work. Many have begun doing workshops and lectures about careers. By offering young Emiratis training programs that best match their interests and abilities may help them make informed choices when it comes to choosing their careers, said Rema Menon, the director of Counselling Point in Dubai. The UAE labor market needs more national graduates who possess skills sought after by employers. In recent time, the country has invested in young people in terms of achievement, knowledge and skills, as part of the UAE education system. It is the right type of “career guidance system, which will not only improve the employment rate among the higher education graduates in alignment with Abu Dhabi 2030 vision [but] will also help support aspirations and decisions of students about their educational and occupational pathways,” said Dr Al Hammadi, executive director of the higher education sector for Adec.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) has introduced a higher education career guidance system designed to help support talent and provide career guidance to students to develop “future-planning skills”.

The Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP) has built partnerships with UAE’s private sector aimed at increasing the recruitment and long-term retention of nationals into the workforce. In addition, the National HR Development & Employment Authority (TANMIA) in Dubai, UAE, provides career counseling and guidance for the national workforce.
