Everything is ready for UAE Innovation Week. Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, has agreed on the schedule.
Starting tomorrow cultural centres will hold special events throughout the country. More than 500 events have so far been organised for UAE Innovation Week.
Shaikh Nahyan said that the ministry’s dedication to organise this week comes, in the first place, as a personification of the UAE’s strategic vision.
In addition, it is as an answer to the call made by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consider 2015 a year of innovation and creativity.
UAE Innovation week will host both private and public institutions.
Shaikh Nahyan added that the ministry’s interest in this week is conforming to the UAE‘s shift towards an innovative society.
He pointed that the country’s wise leadership and the guidance of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is strongly seeking to change into an active knowledge society with international competing capacity.
He also showed gratitude to the leadership for all the moral and financial support and for the global vision to enhance the innovation culture in the Emirati society.
The minister added that the leadership of the UAE has an integrated plan to support changing the Emirates into a developed, knowledgeable and technical nation.
The leadership is preparing a large number of young, talented and innovative individuals who have an immense leadership spirit to support relevant projects in the upcoming years.
Shaikh Nahyan underlined that the leadership’s constant guidance emphasizes the importance of encouraging the innovative and the talented; those individuals represent the fuel to the country’s future.
Moreover he added that the UAE has destined huge budgets to develop human resources, in order to find a rich environment for innovations, inventions and technology development that serves the supports the UAE‘s future goals.
He invited everyone to attend and participate in the activities during Innovation Week; the activities aim to strengthen the culture of innovation and to enhance its value in the society, while also enriching conversation and the mobility.
Shaikh Nahyan indicated that the ministry put in place a comprehensive programme of activities which includes, workshops, exhibitions, brainstorming session throughout cultural centres. across the country
In addition the programme foresees the launch of initiatives and competitions on innovation that will attract people of all ages.
