UAE’s go-green objective is to promote a sustainable lifestyle with programs to reduce the environmental impact; this also includes involving local distributors make their business “greener.”

The UAE is supporting several Green Initiatives for Environmental Sustainability and Renewable Energy. “The strategy aims to provide seven per cent of Dubai’s energy from clean sources by 2020; 25 per cent by 2030; and 75 per cent by 2050,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).

“Meanwhile, the UAE will host the 24th World Energy Congress 2019 in Abu Dhabi as part of efforts to transform into the world’s capital for energy,” reports Khaleej Times.

The recent World Future Energy Summit (WFES) that took place on January 15-18 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, that was part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2017, was the ideal event for many businesses to develop production prospects in the field; it was an occasion to network with the most influential companies, key decision makers and governments in renewable energy present to stimulate international dialogue and action.

Society is expecting a real change; many companies came to ADSW to see what is happening in the UAE and also attended WFES to promote their business in sustainable energy, water, and waste management. The events have been a successful platform for new agreements, partnerships and initiatives for buyers and sellers at product and exhibitor booths and hopefully will result in cleaner technologies.

In addition to the Green Business Owners & Sales Managers Networking Event, later in the month, is another related event: The Solar Middle East 2017 (14 – 16 Feb 2017, 10AM – 6PM DAILY, at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which promotes options to find the right solar solution to meet companies ‘needs.
